It is fed by Nahuel Huapi Lake, and in it,
many rivers such as Traful and Collon Cura, ease their waters. Limay River is a water course of arid characteristics and rocky
formations, purely of steppe, with amazing loglines, huge pools and
great water volume, which make it a challenge for fly fishing.
We divide it into 3 stretches: the first extends from “La Boca” of
Limay River to Fortin Chacabuco Stay- Rincón Chico sector. The
second goes from Fortin Chacabuco Stay – Rincón Chico sector to La
lonja Stay Pine grove. The third and last goes from Balsa Maroma to
Confluencia Traful. We find in this river, big populations of
Rainbow trout, and excellent size of Brown trout. It is an ideal
river to be floated on catarafts. Limay River has provided Brown
trout of around 1kg and Rainbows of up to 8kgs. Given to this and
the majesty of the place, we can assure that Limay River is one of
the best trout-fishing rivers in the world.

with medium equipments #5, of float with dry flies, and of sinking
with small streamers and nymphs. The other, is going for the “Big
Fish”, by using equipment #7 and 8, with ultra-rapid sinking
shooting heads and big streamers.
